How did you get into the industry?

RestoPros began in 2017 as an idea by Alex Blair, the company’s founder. All he had was a trailer, a dozen fans, and three dehumidifiers, but he was determined to create a water restoration and mold remediation company that truly valued the customer. Alex knew how to stretch a dollar, and he carefully invested in tools purchased from pawn shops and other sources of discounted equipment. He and his small team were dedicated to completing every job on time and to the customer’s satisfaction, and that dedication has paid off in all of the years since. Within four months, Alex was overseeing three crews and doing six to twelve jobs a day. Now, RestoPros is working over a hundred jobs every month, has two locations, and is open to franchising so homeowners and business owners across the U.S. can experience the RestroPros difference.

What’s New in the Business or in the Franchise Model?

RestoPros has only recently begun franchising. The company also continues to grow its own two locations, bringing in more and more technicians. Many of the company’s employees come from a military background.

Where do you See Opportunities or Challenges for the Franchise/Business Moving Forward?

RestoPros is excited about franchising and moving into other parts of the U.S. Franchising brings with it a number of challenges. The challenge, as with any business, will be to expand while staying true to our goals and dedication to focusing on the customer first. We believe that using the same dedication to the customer that the company was founded on will go a long way towards reaching that goal.

The main challenge we will face is making sure that the new franchisees really understand automotive sales and are continually following the processes that we set in place. Not staying with the procedures could cause minimal sales. The processes we have are tried and true and work. To combat this is will have continual training to make sure everyone understands what will make them successful.

What is your Goal for the Business Moving Forward?

Our goal is to bring dependable and professional damage restoration and mold remediation services to people across the U.S. in a timely manner by expanding via franchises. Everyone dealing with this issue deserves dedicated, professional technicians to help them out.

Talk to us About Training and Support, How Do You Deliver?

Each franchisee goes through three phases of training. First, we teach them the technical, administration, operational, and marketing skills they need to operate a business. Next, we focus on training on-site, getting them familiar with the tools and equipment they will be using on a daily basis. Phase three is determined by what the franchisee needs. We provide additional training and supplementary educational courses in areas the franchisee is not as familiar or comfortable with.

After training, we continue to provide operational and marketing support. We will continue training franchisees on new equipment and processes, provide support as needed, and assist with marketing and product ordering. We have resources such as pricing guidelines and marketing strategies that all franchisees can make use of. We also negotiate discounts with various vendors that our franchise operators can take advantage of. Finally, we provide additional support in accounting, finances, legal issues, and more.

How is your Franchise Model Structured?

A. Training and Support Model?

Each franchisee goes through three phases of training in order to learn how to operate a business and a RestroPros franchise. We back up and support every franchisee, no matter what they need. Franchise owners can always contact us whenever they need help or have any questions.

B. What is the Fee Structure?

Franchise owners will need to invest between $120,000 and $180,000 for working capital, marketing, startup costs, and the initial franchise fee. The franchise fee is $40,000 annually.

C. Territory Definition?

Early franchise adopters can obtain exclusive rights to their territory, which is defined as an area with a population of 250,000 to 500,000.

D. Day in the life of a Franchisee?

Franchisees will supervise their team of experts in handing water extraction, drying, water remediation, damage restoration, mold detection and remediation, humidity control, moisture detection, raw sewage cleanup, roof tarping, and other services. They will not necessarily be in the field, however, and franchise operators do not need to possess technical knowledge of damage restoration or remediation.
