How did you get into the industry?

For 13 years, I owned 3 Territories of a large In-Home Care Agency in Charlotte, NC before selling a little over a year back.

What’s New in the Business or in the Franchise Model?

To the best of my knowledge, we are only the 2nd company in the USA to franchise such a model.  So there is a lot of interest.

Where do you See Opportunities or Challenges for the Franchise/Business Moving Forward?

We are just starting to Franchise based on much interest from various parties both in and out of the Senior Care Industry.

What is your Goal for the Business Moving Forward?

We intend to start relatively slowly since we are new to Franchising this business concept.  We hope to sell between 3-7 Franchises per year to start.

Talk to us About Training and Support, How Do You Deliver?

We do a full week training for Franchisees in Charlotte, NC and then some on-site training at the Franchise Location.

Your most difficult moment at the Franchise Business?

Again, we’re new to Franchising so just getting the FDD finalized took time.  But we feel we’re in an excellent position now to start adding franchisees and training them to get on-line ASAP.

How is your Franchise Model Structured?

A. Training and Support Model?  Yes, Initial 1 Week Training in Charlotte & On-Site Training at Franchise.  On-going Support both before and after start-up of Property

B. What is the Fee Structure?  $37,000 Initial Franchise Fee and 6% Royalty

C. Territory Definition? 1.5 Miles from the first licensed Family Care Home opened by Franchisee

D. Day in the life of a Franchisee? Marketing/Operations/Resident Interaction/Family Interaction/HR (Scheduling/Staffing)

What does Your Franchisee Do in the Business Every Day?

They can either operate/run the business themselves or hire staff to do this on their behalf.

Who is the Ideal Franchise Candidate?

A Variety.  Someone with Senior Care or Home Health Care Experience but definitely not Mandatory.  Owner should understand basic Financial Statement and/or Bookkeeping or hire outside firm to handle.  Should have Compassion to help both seniors and their families.

10. Success Stories and Failures with Franchisees?

Again, we are brand new. But we were approached to Franchise this business by numerous interested parties who, of course, will be some of the first people we reach out to.

What Goals Do you Have for the Franchise Model in the Future?

We hope to concentrate more in the Carolina’s (NC & SC) at first and then move on to other neighboring states. But we are open to talk with all interested parties. We know there is demand and a need for what we do all around the world, but we would like to focus locally and maintain quality of service.
