How did you get into the industry?

Dumb luck really. My husband and I were interested in starting a business, but we weren’t sure what kind. While on vacation, we came across axe throwing and knew that was what we wanted to get into!

Your most difficult moment at the Franchise Business?

It broke my heart to lay off my staff when we had to shut down for COVID-19. We tried to keep work available as much as we could for maintenance and building updates, but there was a lot of downtime and we were only able to keep a couple members of staff on board during the shutdown.

Day in the life of a Franchisee?

This depends on how the franchisee sets up their business. If they are an active owner/operator, they will be busy all day answering emails from customers/ potential customers, setting up events, completing maintenance on logs and axes, and handling employee scheduling and inquiries. If they choose to have a management team so that they don’t have to be as actively involved, they will only spend an hour or 2 out of their day discussing decisions with their management team.
